| Case Study: Lafayette Fisher Field |
| The Challenge When Lafayette College decided to renovate the historic Fisher Field stadium, they knew only the best sound reinforcement system would be acceptable. There were many obstacles involved with the project, due to the institution's location in a residential neighborhood. Besides providing intelligible, high level sound throughout the stadium during events, the athletic department wanted to be able to play music for the team during warm-ups. The sound emitting from the system had to be focused into the field, with minimal sound leakage out into the surrounding community. |
The SolutionCSI worked with the college's athletic and grounds departments, as well as the consulting engineer, to design and install a sound system that would provide them with the desired results. A specialized multi-zone DSP controlled speaker system consisting of various frequency and coverage controlled loudspeakers, as well as a low frequency bass cabinet was implemented as part of the design to assist in the sound control. The result was a perfectly balanced system that provided excellent audio to all home, field and visitor locations, while minimizing echo and leakage into the community. |
