On March 18, 2010 The Federal Bureau of Investigation released "Caught on Camera," which was a video created by their Operational Technology Division. The video portrays a FBI investigation of a domestic terrorist incident and how the successful conclusion of the case was greatly aided by proper deployment and use of a Home Improvement store's CCTV system.

Beyond the storyline, this video also identifies many best practices for the owners and operators of commercial and institutional Closed Circuit Security Camera systems. While the story itself is fictional, all of the processes and equipment portrayed in this dramatization are available today.
